The key to the Guide's efficiency is found in two indexes. One
is an "Alphabetic Index to All Media," and the other
is an index of "Major Communities and the Media Serving Them."
The major communities index names more than 900 communities
along with the print and cable TV media serving them. And then
it does it all over again by ZIP code.
The Greater Philadelphia Media Guide provides accurate, detailed
information on more than 650 newspapers, magazines, broadcast
stations, wire services, cable television systems, and other media.
Up to 30 key facts are provided for each media outlet listed in
the Guide.
Here's a sample of the detailed kind of information given: date
founded, name of publishing company, address of publishing company,
address of editorial offices, telephone numbers, fax numbers,
internet and e-mail addresses, names and titles of key personnel,
frequency of publication, day published, circulation per issue,
method by which circulation is verified, year of verification,
area in which publication is circulated (usually community names
or north, south, east, west street boundries, plus ZIPs), editorial
copy deadline, advertising copy deadline, page size, average number
of pages per issue, description of the publication, special editions
and their publication dates, special supplements and their publication
dates, dates on which not published, advertising rate, cost of
the publication per copy, cost of the publication per year, and
representative for national advertising.
From edition to edition, several thousand factual changes of
prime significance are made to update information in the Guide.
Let the Guide speak for itself through the sample
pages.
